Annie’s Hope is a 501(c)3 non-profit organized to raise the money necessary to start building a soup kitchen in Wright County. The future location of Annie’s Hope has not been selected, but most discussion focuses on a location between Monticello and Buffalo on Highway 25.
We initially plan to raise $12,000 in order to begin serving food out of an existing location at the beginning of 2018, when all the holiday giving has ended. We are in various stages of planning for the following fundraisers:
- Praise in the Park – we held our first Praise in the Park at Bertram on September 10, 2017, and will do more of these events.
- The Night Shift Before Christmas – December 3, 2017 at the Monticello High School Auditorium.
- Mystery Auction – March 2018
- Bubble Boogie 5K – May 2018
- Rib Cook-Off, August 2018
The next phase of fundraising targets finding a location and beginning the preparation for building a facility.
The final phase of fundraising is for ongoing support of the programming and facility.
We intend for Annie’s Hope to be more than your average soup kitchen, with plans for a sit-down, family-style food service using fresh food grown on our campus. In addition to food, we plan to offer programming, dormitory- and single-family housing, in-house daycare, grooming facilities, entry-level support jobs, and transportation. Our vision and goals are aggressive, and will take time and dedication to achieve, but our plan is intentional and manageable. The team that we are building has experience and energy to devote to this project for years to come.
Spend some time here, on our website, and find your place. We need your help and your energy, and look forward to knowing you.
